The report points out that workers in Ghana deal with stress every day, making it one of the countries in the region where work-related stress is very common.
Chad is at the top of the list as the country with the most stressed workers, followed by Uganda, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone, with Ghana just behind Sierra Leone.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, nearly half of the workers, about 46%, feel stressed daily, and this includes both men and women equally.
Even though the region has made progress since the height of the pandemic, the level of stress among employees remains worryingly high.

The survey emphasizes the need for leaders in organizations to address the issue of employee stress directly because it has a big impact on how well people work and how much they can do. Gallup points out that keeping employees engaged is key to reducing stress, even more so than the work environment itself.
The report says that while there’s still a debate about whether to work remotely, in a hybrid way, or on-site, keeping employees engaged is the most important thing for lowering stress levels.

Remote work, which allows for independence and well-being, is something that today’s workers value a lot. To gather the data for the report, Gallup asked 1,000 people in each country or region a set of standard questions that were translated into the main local languages.
The responses reflect the views of working adults who are 15 years old and older. The report stresses how important it is to deal with stress at work and to make sure employees are involved and engaged, as this helps build a strong and effective workforce in Sub-Saharan Africa.
