The Abetifi constituency has over the years proven to be one of the most keenly contested constituencies in the Eastern region of Ghana. The current member of Parliament for the constituency is Bryan Acheampong elected on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He took over from Peter Wiafe Pepera in 2016.
