GES Interdicts Three Officers of Somé Senior High School For Food Theft

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the interdiction of three officers from Somé Senior High School for their alleged involvement in the theft of food items meant for the Free SHS program. The officials in question are Richard Ametorxe, the bursar; Yorm Dzikumu, the matron; and Alex Obuadi, the storekeeper.

In a statement released on Monday, May 27, the GES confirmed that the interdiction is effective immediately. This decisive action comes in response to allegations that the three officers were engaged in stealing food supplies intended to support the Free SHS initiative, which aims to provide free secondary education to students across Ghana.

The GES has formed an investigative committee to look into the matter thoroughly. This committee is tasked with conducting a detailed investigation and is expected to submit its findings within two weeks. The outcome of this investigation will determine the next steps to be taken by the GES regarding the implicated officers.
