French film legend Alain Delon has died at the age of 88. The iconic actor, known for his tough-guy persona and striking looks, was a major figure in the golden era of French cinema.

Delon passed away peacefully at his home in Douchy, on 18 August 2024 surrounded by his three children and close family members, according to a statement released to AFP news agency.
His family expressed their deep sadness in the statement, saying, “Alain Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony, as well as (his dog) Loubo, are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their father.”
Delon had been in poor health in recent years and had become a virtual recluse. Despite this, he remained a prominent figure in French culture, with his personal life often making headlines.
In 2019, he suffered a stroke, and disagreements over his medical treatment led to a public family feud, which included lawsuits and accusations.
