This move came after reports surfaced accusing the supermarket of denying entry to Nigerians.

Outraged Nigerians voiced their concerns on social media, prompting the FCCPC to investigate the matter.

Located at the China General Chamber of Commerce in the Federal Capital Territory, the supermarket specializes in Chinese cuisine and beverages.

Shockingly, access to the store was allegedly restricted to Chinese nationals only. Shaibu Sanusi, the complex’s facility manager, admitted that Nigerians from outside the complex were barred from shopping there. However, Nigerians living within the complex were allowed entry.

Currently, the supermarket remains shuttered as the FCCPC suspects that some individuals may be hiding inside to evade scrutiny.

This incident highlights the importance of inclusivity and non-discrimination in business practices. The FCCPC’s decisive action underscores the government’s commitment to protecting consumer rights and promoting fairness in the marketplace.
