Fatuma Zarika was born on March 13, 1985, in Mathare, a small town in Kenya, Africa. Although famously known as Fatuma Zarika, she was born Zarika Njeri Kanghete. Fatuma Zarika was introduced to boxing by Conjestina Achieng, a former boxing Champion. Fatuma Zarika has won well over 30 matches since going professional in 2003.
Fatuma Zarika dropped out of school to help her mother raise funds to pay the tuition fees for her brother, Musa Mohammed who is currently the Captain of Germania.
