The cause of his death has not been made public.
Starting his journey in his hometown club Swansea City, Medwin showcased his talent, netting 57 goals in 147 games.
His prowess earned him a move to Tottenham in 1956 for a fee of £25,000. Renowned as “The Flying Welshman,” Medwin’s speed and dribbling abilities were legendary.
He played a pivotal role in Tottenham’s historic 1961 League and FA Cup triumph, scoring five goals during that remarkable season. His tenure at Spurs spanned until 1963, amassing over 200 appearances and 72 goals.

On the international stage, Medwin represented Wales 30 times, scoring six goals. His most memorable moment came in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, where his decisive goal secured Wales’ victory over Hungary. This goal stood as Wales’ last in a World Cup until Gareth Bale’s penalty in 2022.
Tragically, Medwin’s career was cut short by a broken leg during a Tottenham tour in 1963. Nevertheless, his legacy as a skilled and influential player endures both on and off the field.
He is survived by his wife Joyce and six children, leaving behind a rich legacy cherished by football enthusiasts worldwide.
