Following the departure of veteran center-back Raphaël Varane at the end of the past season, Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United are seeking a new center-back, with de Ligt being a prime target.
Bayern Munich might consider selling de Ligt to alleviate their wage bill and reallocate funds elsewhere in the squad.
According to reports, Ten Hag and Manchester United are closely monitoring de Ligt’s situation at Bayern this summer.
There is mutual respect between Matthijs de Ligt and Manchester United, partly due to de Ligt’s previous experience working with Ten Hag during his tenure as Ajax manager.
