This 21-day initiative, concluding on May 27, 2024, anticipates registering around 623,000 new voters nationwide.
Madam Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the EC, expressed the commission’s readiness for the task ahead.
She emphasized the operational hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, highlighting the potential to surpass the projected figure. She cited the 2023 estimate of 700,000 registrations as precedent.

To mitigate potential challenges, particularly power outages, the commission has equipped all district offices with rented generators.
These generators serve as backup to ensure uninterrupted registration services. In the event of power cuts, offices will transition to manual registration, storing voter details on a pen drive until normalcy returns.
Mensa reassured the public of the commission’s preparedness, affirming that measures are in place to manage unforeseen circumstances.
She reiterated the commitment to a seamless registration process, irrespective of external factors like power disruptions.
