Efeso Collins parents: Meet Tauiliili Sio Collins & Lotomau Collins – Tauiliili Sio Collins and Lotomau Collins are the parents of Efeso Collins, a prominent figure in New Zealand politics, who served as a Member of Parliament for the Green Party beginning in 2023.

His father Tauiliili Sio Collins worked as a taxi driver and later as a bus driver, as well as serving as a pastor in the Pentecostal Church.

His mother Lotomau Collins worked on a factory floor and held jobs as a cleaner. Efeso was the youngest of the six children his parents had.

Before entering national politics, Efeso held various positions within local government and student organizations. He was born and raised in Ōtara, Auckland.

Efeso died on February 21, 2024, after collapsing at a charity event in Auckland, New Zealand. Emergency services rushed to treat him, but he died at the scene.

Efeso was 49 years old at the time of his death and he is survived by his wife, Fia, and their two daughters, Kaperiela and Asalemo.

Efeso will be remembered for his contributions to improving the lives of South Auckland and Pacific Island communities, particularly through addressing social justice and educational disparities.

He was the first Polynesian to serve as the President of the Auckland University Students’ Association (AUSA) and later pursued a variety of careers, including working in the education sector and public service.
