Dua Lipa is an English singer, songwriter and former model who has been making waves after the release of her eponymous debut album.
Dua Lipa was born on 22 August 1995 in London to Dukagjin Lipa and Anesa Lipa. Dua Lipa has two siblings; Rina, born in May 2001 and Gjin, born in December 2005. Dua Lipa attended the Fitzjohn’s Primary School where included in her music lessons was the cello. When Dua Lipa auditioned to become a party of Fitzjohn’s Primary School choir, she was rejected because her voice was “too low” to reach the high notes and also told by her music teacher that “she could not sing”.

At the age of 9, Dua Lipa began weekend singing lessons at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, where her teacher, Ray, helped her develop her vocal skills and also reignited her passion of becoming a musician.
At the age of 11, Dua Lipa together with her family moved to Kosovo. Dua Lipa’s arrival coincided with the arrival of rap artists from North America who were performing in the country, and their arrival influenced her style of music.
Dua Lipa returned to London at the age of 15, beginning her secondary education at Parliament Hill School, where she earned A-levels in Politics, Psychology, English and Media. Dua Lipa decided not to further her education to the university in order to enable her focus on her dream of becoming a musician.

On 2 June 2017, Dua Lipa released her first studio album and its sixth single, “New Rules” shot Dua Lipa to number 1 in the UK Chart.
In February 2018, Dua Lipa collaborated with DJ Whethan on the song “High”. On 6 April 2018, Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris released the single “One Kiss” which topped the UK Chart. “One Kiss” went on to become the biggest selling song in the UK of 2018 and topped the chart for eight consecutive weeks.
On 26 May 2018, Dua Lipa performed in the opening ceremony of the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final in Kyiv.
In January 2019, Dua Lipa released the single “Swan Song” as part of the soundtrack to the 2019 film Alita: Battle Angel.
In December 2019, Dua Lipa announced her second album Future Nostalgia which debuted at number two on the Official UK Albums Chart.
On 2 October 2020, Dua Lipa released the second remix of “Levitating” featuring American rapper DaBaby.
In early February 2021, Dua Lipa announced that she would release a new single, titled “We’re Good”.
