Don Everly was a member of The Everly Brothers, an American country-influenced rock and roll duo. At the time of his death, Don Everly was the only serving member of the music duo that was known for steel-string acoustic guitar playing and close harmony singing. Don Everly died on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the age of 84.

Don’s family announced his death in a statement. The statement said:
“Don lived by what he felt in his heart. Don expressed his appreciation for the ability to live his dreams … with his soulmate and wife, Adela, and sharing the music that made him an Everly Brother.”
An inaugural inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Don and his duo, Phil, had worldwide hits in the late 1950s and early 1960s. They were considered one of pop music’s greatest vocal partnerships. Their hits include Bye Bye Love and All I Have to Do Is Dream.

The duo had an onstage breakup in 1973. Phil died of pulmonary disease in 2014 at the age of 74.
