He passed away following a tragic car accident.
It follows after actor Jordi Vilasuso, who starred as Rey, previously revealed that he was leaving the soap opera after he was fired.
At the end of Tuesday’s episode, viewers knew Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had swerved on the road and gotten into an accident, but they didn’t know if she was going to die or if anyone else was involved.
The latest broadcast saw her knocked out in her car as it caught up in flames, but she survived after Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), who turns out to be driving behind her saved her.
At the very end of the episode, it was discovered that Rey was driving from the other direction and ended up crashing into a ditch.

Ashland argues with Victoria to stay still until they can get her help. He asks her what happened. She remembers that there was another car — lights were coming toward her. They weren’t Ashland’s because he was behind her. “There was another car involved!” she exclaims.

Victoria recalls that she was on the phone with her mother — on speakerphone — she had to swerve to avoid the car that came into her lane. Ashland remembers he also had to swerve to avoid it and then saw her go into a tree. Victoria notices the burns on his hands and realizes, “You actually risked your life to save mine.”
Ashland shared the sad news with Victoria, telling her: “I checked the other car. It had gone into a ditch. It was damaged much worse than either of ours.”
She asked: “And the driver?”
“There was nothing I could do. “The other driver didn’t make it.”
Ashland continued: “I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it was someone you know. Rey Rosales.”
The episode came to an end as she just kept reiterating to herself over and over, “Oh my God.”
