According to a new biography of the late Queen Elizabeth II, she died of bone cancer.

Official records show that the longest-reigning monarch in British history died of old age at the age of 96, but Gyles Brandreth, writing in Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, claims she died from a type of bone marrow cancer called multiple myeloma in her final years.

An excerpt from the biography published in the Daily Mail describes how Brandeth, a close friend of Prince Phillip, stated that he had heard Queen Elizabeth II had myeloma.

“Which would explain her tiredness and weight loss, as well as those’mobility issues’ we were frequently told about during the last year or so of her life.”

Gyles Brandreth wrote in the serialization: “The truth is that Her Majesty was always aware that her time was running out. She accepted it with the grace one would expect.”

This information has yet to be confirmed by other sources close to the Royal Family.

During her reign, the public was given very little information about the Queen’s health. Due to her health, she had to cancel several events during her final year on the throne, including the State Opening of Parliament and the 2021 Festival of Remembrance.
