Nigerian singer Tems has likened dating her to discovering a unique flower with many layers or experiencing an unpredictable movie.

In an interview on the Is This Seat Taken Podcast with Chinasa Akunam, Tems shared insights into her music, fame, and hobbies like poetry.
When asked to describe dating her, Tems used the image of a rare, multi-layered flower that’s dark on the outside but reveals bright colors inside, with a surprise stone at its core.
In her own words,
She began, “Dating me Is like stumbling upon a rare species of flower that looks dark from the outside and when it opens it has pink or purple, but has a stone in the middle, there’s a lot of layers with me.”
“It’s like going on an adventure, it’s like a movie or a film. It’s like one of those goofy comedy things that are weird. It’s like the plot where something random happens, but every single time,” she explained in between laughter.

She also said dating her is full of surprises, like an adventure film filled with unexpected comedic twists. Tems shared her excitement about meeting American rapper Kendrick Lamar and how he expressed being a fan of her work.
