Welsh actor Dafydd Hywel passed away from an undisclosed cause, on March 23, 2023. He was aged 77.

Hywel was known for starring in the British comedy drama Stella, Keeping Faith and many other Welsh and English productions.
Tributes have poured in from across the globe for the late actor who has been described as “an amazing actor and a man of great principles”.
Today’s news is a blow. We were great friends for years”, said John Pierce Jones, his friend since the 1970s.
“He has left his mark – there will only be one DH”, he added.
For Rhuanedd Richards, director of BBC Cymru Wales, “Hywel’s contribution to Welsh films is unmistakable.”

Who Was Dafydd Hywel?
Dafydd Hywel was an actor known for appearing in many Welsh and English films and TV productions.
Born on December 4, 1945, in Garnant Wales, Hywel began acting in1969.
He came to prominence after starring as Glen Brennig in the Sky1 TV comedy drama series Stella.
Hywel played the role of William Haggar in the bilingual film A Penny for Your Dreams/I Fro Breuddwydion.
He acted alongside Samuel L Jackson and Dame Judi Dench in Miss Peregerine’s Home for Peculiar Children.
Other films in which he appeared in life Coming Up Roses, The Crown, Off To Philadelphia In The Morning, The Indian Doctor, The Bill and Holby City.
