Nigerian artist Daddy Showkey recently shared a harrowing experience from his past involvement in a gang.

He opened up on The Honest Bunch Podcast, revealing a close call with death. Daddy Showkey recounted that he and his friends once stumbled upon some guns in a refuse dump in Ikorodu.
They began using these guns to frighten locals, leading to a dramatic and dangerous moment.
One day, while out on their usual activities, someone spotted them and raised the alarm, shouting “Thieves, thieves, thieves.” The locals quickly caught him and his friend, tying them up with the intention of burning them alive.

Daddy Showkey described this terrifying moment, saying they were saved by a miracle. Sadly, one of his gang members, known as 91A, was not as fortunate and was burned alive.
Reflecting on this near-death experience, Daddy Showkey emphasized that his survival serves as a powerful message for young people.
He believes that if he could survive and transform into the successful artist he is today, then anyone can turn their life around. He encouraged others not to be ashamed of their past, saying he is not embarrassed to share his story.
