The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the usual activities of everyone including great countries and Japan, an island country in East Asia, located in the northwest Pacific Ocean is not an exception to the horror of the virus.

As every country is putting in measures to curb the influx of the disease with regards to importing new variants, Japan has also done the same.
At present, almost all non-Japanese are barred from visiting or transiting through Japan.

In early October 2020, Japanese media carried reports of a plan to reopen to tourists in April, in preparation for the Olympics but details are unclear.

On October 30, Japan lowered travel restrictions for Australia, Brunei, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
However, due to the rise of the new variants in Japan, these programs have been temporarily suspended, and Japan travel restrictions brought back to normalcy.
This ban is slated to be in place until March 7 but maybe raised earlier if conditions improve. You may want to call the Japanese embassy or consulate nearest you for further updates and instructions.
