The Aloba family, mourning the loss of their son Mohbad, a Nigerian singer, has been granted permission by the court to proceed with a second autopsy.

This decision comes in response to their dissatisfaction with the initial autopsy conducted by the Lagos State Government.

Mohbad tragically passed away in September 2023 after reportedly being misdiagnosed with an “ear infection” by an unlicensed nurse, who has since faced legal repercussions.

Following the exhumation of Mohbad’s body on September 21, 2023, the initial autopsy conducted by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) could not definitively determine the cause of death.

The report cited challenges such as decomposition and potential reactions to medications.

In light of these inconclusive findings, the Aloba family expressed their refusal to accept the initial autopsy report.

They have sought further clarification from the Lagos State Government to verify the accuracy of the findings, particularly in light of discussions about potentially conducting an autopsy in the United States.

The court’s decision to allow a second autopsy reflects the family’s quest for clarity and justice regarding the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death.
