A visit by the Ghana News Agency on Thursday, July 4 2024 revealed a notable absence of personnel in most Ministries, with offices remaining largely deserted.
Only a handful of workers, predominantly security personnel, were observed at certain locations, coexisting with non-CLOGSAG members who accessed the premises.
Those present indicated compliance with the strike directive but mentioned visiting for personal reasons, highlighting the impact of the ongoing industrial action on daily operations.
Throughout the ministerial enclave, symbolic red bands adorned trees, fences, main entrances, and office doors, underscoring solidarity among striking members.

Locations visited by the GNA included key institutions such as the Ministry of Transport, Office of the Head of the Local Government Service, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice, Office of the Head of Civil Service, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, and the CLOGSAG Secretariat.
CLOGSAG leadership initiated the strike on July 2 in response to the government’s delay in implementing a revised salary structure slated for introduction in January 2023.
As the strike enters its second day, stakeholders await further developments amidst ongoing negotiations between CLOGSAG and government representatives, highlighting the growing impact of labor disputes on public sector operations.
