The astute journalist has been off work for some time now. She revealed she took time off to under surgery something it has been done successfully to nip it down. However, despite the earlier detection, Christiane Amanpour believes she is unlikely to survive it.

Christiane Amanpour says she’s confident about the outcome, even as she begins several months of chemotherapy to deal with the cancer doctors weren’t able to surgically remove.
Christiane Amanpour attributes her optimism to the fact that she found the cancer early via medical tests/screenings.
She is urging women at home to listen to their bodies, and to get checked out early and often — because detecting this disease as soon as possible is really half the battle. Detecting it early halfway saves a life.
