Despite signing Robert Sanchez from Brighton last summer, new manager Enzo Maresca wanted additional competition for the No.1 spot.
Filip Jorgensen graduated from Villarreal’s youth academy and spent just one season as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, helping them secure an eighth-place finish in La Liga during the 2023-24 season.
Despite signing a new contract with Villarreal last month, which was set to run until 2029, Filip Jorgensen is now on his way to Stamford Bridge and he will be a great addition to Chelsea’s current team set up.
