The defensive midfielder, highly regarded on the local scene, was a standout performer for Ghana’s U-16 team during their European tour last year. His exceptional talent caught the eye of scouts, leading to his invitation to train with Chelsea’s youth squads.
According to the BBC, Ganiwu has already featured in some matches with Chelsea’s youth teams since his trial started.
He played in an Under-18s match against Sheffield United and has also linked up with the Under-21s, showcasing his versatility and skill across different age levels.

Ganiwu, 16, hopes to secure a permanent deal with the Blues. If signed, he would likely be loaned out to gain valuable experience and game time, a common practice for young talents in top European clubs.
This trial at Chelsea isn’t Ganiwu’s first experience with European football.
He previously had trials with French side RC Lens and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, where he starred for their youth team during a tournament in Brazil. Despite these impressive stints, he has yet to secure a contract.
