Ghanaian chef Ebenezer Smith, popularly known as Chef Smith, has stirred controversy after confessing to using fellow chef Adu Safoa’s application reference documents to secure sponsorship for his cook-a-thon event during an interview on GHOne TV with Serwaa Amihere.

Chef Smith made the startling revelation, explaining that he was inspired by previous successful attempts using similar methods.

“After seeing the successes of others like Hilda Bacci and Afua, who used this approach, I decided to follow suit. The application references often follow a sequential pattern, so I used Adu Safoa’s reference to bolster my own application,” he disclosed.

Despite his thorough research into the Guinness World Records application process, Chef Smith admitted that he did not have a legitimate application with the organization.

“I have studied the Guinness World Records process extensively. However, I did not apply for a record myself; instead, I relied on Adu Safoa’s application details,” he admitted.

When pressed by Serwaa Amihere about whether Adu Safoa was aware of his actions, Chef Smith confessed, “She has no idea.”

This revelation has raised ethical concerns about the transparency and legitimacy of Chef Smith’s cook-a-thon event.

The interview has sparked widespread discussion within the culinary community and among the public, with many questioning the appropriateness of Chef Smith’s approach and its potential impact on his credibility and future sponsorships.
