Chef Smith Arrested for Alleged Fraud

Chef Ebenezer Smith, renowned for holding the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, has been arrested and detained at the La Police Station. The arrest comes in connection with allegations of defrauding Amadia Shopping Mall, one of the sponsors of his cooking marathon, of approximately GHC350,000.

The incident occurred the same day Chef Smith announced securing confirmation for his Guinness World Record attempt. He was apprehended at the La Palm Hotel in Accra, where he addressed the press about his journey to achieving the record.

Despite his claims of legitimacy, netizens have raised concerns about discrepancies in the key features on the plaque he presented. However, Benny, a representative for Chef Smith, insists that the record is genuine, stating that they received an email confirmation from Guinness World Records.

Chef Smith embarked on his cook-a-thon journey on February 1, 2024, and cooked continuously for 820 hours, concluding the marathon on March 6, 2024, despite initially aiming for 1,200 hours.
