Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy has debunked claims that he is gay.

Addressing widespread rumours that he is, Charly Boy refuted the notion that he identifies as gay. In an interview with reality star Uriel Oputa, the singer asked fans to disregard such rumours being circulated on social media.

While Charly Boy openly acknowledges and embraces his feminine side, he said it does not equate to being gay. He stated that if he was gay, he would have been championing gay rights in the country.
He said, “I could be but I am not. Because if I was gay I would be carrying my placards going around and fighting for gay rights.”
Drawing from his experiences, Charly Boy said, “So I’ve my feminine ways and sometimes I can get confusing if you don’t know who I am. A lot of people have said I am gay. I could be but I am not.”
