In line with efforts to promote public health, Husseini announced plans to ensure that the Nigerian motion picture sector becomes smoke-free. He urged practitioners to minimize the depiction of tobacco use, especially on World Tobacco Free Day, emphasizing the need for responsible filmmaking practices.
Furthermore, Husseini cautioned against the portrayal of themes that glamorize crime, ritual killings, or tarnish the country’s reputation internationally. He emphasized the board’s commitment to enforcing regulations against such content, reflecting its dedication to upholding moral standards in the film industry.
In addition to regulatory efforts, the NFVCB plans to embark on a nationwide media literacy campaign to educate youths about appropriate content consumption. This initiative aims to empower parents and teachers to monitor and guide children’s media exposure, safeguarding their impressionable minds from harmful content.

Reflecting on his appointment as the sixth executive director of the NFVCB, Husseini expressed his commitment to enhancing the board’s operations and legacy. He outlined plans to celebrate the NFVCB’s upcoming 30th anniversary with the publication of three comprehensive documents detailing the board’s progress over the decades.
Husseini’s proactive approach underscores the NFVCB’s dedication to fostering responsible filmmaking practices and promoting cultural and societal values through the Nigerian film industry. As stakeholders collaborate to uphold ethical standards and creative integrity, the NFVCB continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of Nollywood and safeguarding the nation’s cultural heritage.
