The Grammy Award-winning artist believes he is not a Nigerian artist because according to him, he does not make money in the country.

Burna shared this after some fans attacked him on Twitter over his music career.
When a fan, quizzed why he said he’s not a Nigerian artist when he promotes African culture and wondered why he is denying his motherland, he said, yes he’s from Nigeria and lives here because he loves his home and people, but “E no pass like that. I don鈥檛 make money from Nigeria. Na only cruise dey here.”
Twitter users did not let that slide as another person then called him a liar for claiming to not be making money from Nigeria, and questioned about the money he made from his homecoming which was organized by Governor Wike.

But Burna responded to that saying he doesn’t get a ‘dime’ from that homecoming and that, only the artists who came to perform to honour him that day were paid.
Many have reacted to his claims, wondering how he says he doesn’t make money from Nigeria when Nigerians stream his music and attend his concerts.
