Burna Boy and Asake were up for the Best International Act of the Year but lost to American artist SZA. Similarly, Rema’s track ‘Calm Down’ missed out on the Best International Song of the Year award, which went to Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers.’

Despite not winning, Rema concluded the evening with an energetic performance of his hit ‘Calm Down,’ becoming only the second African artist to perform at the BRITs, following Burna Boy’s appearance in 2019.

Meanwhile, Raye has set a new record for the most wins in a single year at the BRITs, with six awards including Best New Artist, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best R&B Act, and Songwriter of the Year.
