Schofield, who has amassed 2.2 million followers on TikTok with her lifestyle content, posted apologies after old tweets resurfaced.

These tweets, dating from 2012 to 2015, include statements defending George Zimmerman’s killing of Trayvon Martin, using racist slurs, and making derogatory comments about Black people’s hair.

In her initial apology, Schofield expressed regret, stating, “I’m sorry, very very sorry, to anybody who is hurt by the tweets because obviously they’re very hurtful. This is not how I think, that is not what I believe and I’m 27 years old now. I’ve had so much time to learn and grow and formulate my own opinions.”

The resurfacing of Schofield’s past posts and her apologies have sparked frustration among Black creators, who feel this issue has become a recurring cycle with no real change.

Cameron Kira, another creator, voiced this sentiment in a TikTok video, questioning the effectiveness of these apologies and highlighting that similar scandals seem to repeat annually without leading to significant progress or change in behavior.
