The decision, unveiled during the FIFA Congress in Thailand, was reached through an open vote, marking a significant departure from previous selection methods.
With an impressive 119 votes, Brazil emerged victorious over a joint bid from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, which garnered 78 votes. This triumph underscores Brazil’s growing prominence in global soccer.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino extended congratulations to Brazil, expressing confidence in the country’s ability to deliver an exceptional tournament.
Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing their commitment to hosting the best Women’s World Cup.

The 2027 event will mark the tournament’s 10th edition, following Spain’s victory in 2023. Brazil’s success in securing the bid reflects its superior infrastructure and readiness to host such a significant sporting spectacle.
Despite Brazil’s formidable lineup, the absence of Marta, a legendary figure in women’s soccer, will be felt.
Having participated in six World Cups and boasting 115 international goals, Marta announced her retirement earlier this year, leaving a void in Brazil’s team.
Nonetheless, the stage is set for an electrifying showcase of talent in 2027, with Brazil poised to make history on home soil.
