He was denied the opportunity to vote at a polling station in South Oxfordshire because he forgot to bring his photo ID, a rule he himself had implemented while in office.
The incident occurred on Thursday, May 2, according to reports.
After being turned away, Johnson later returned with his ID and successfully cast his ballot.

This incident highlighted the impact of the new voting regulations introduced by Johnson’s Conservative government through the Elections Act 2022.

When the law was first proposed, it drew widespread criticism. The UK’s Electoral Commission raised concerns in 2023, warning that the requirement for photo ID could disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds or ethnic minorities.
This episode serves as a reminder of the controversies surrounding voting regulations and their potential consequences on democratic participation.
Johnson previously served as UK Prime Minister and Conservative Party leader. He also served in various roles including Mayor of London and Foreign Secretary.
