Bob Woodward is an American investigative journalist popularly called Bob Woodward, born to Jane and Alfred Woodward.
Bob was raised in nearby Wheaton, Illinois and had his education at Wheaton Community High School, a public high school in the same town. After his education in Wheaton, he proceeded in Yale College with a Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps scholarship and studied history and English Literature.
After being discharged as a lieutenant in August 1970, Woodward was admitted to Harvard Law School but decided not to attend. He rather applied for a job as a reporter for the Washington Post.
The post’s metropolitan editor gave him a two weeks trial but did not hire him because of his lack of journalistic skills. After a year at the Montgomery Sentinel, a weekly newspaper in Washington DC, Woodward was hired as a Post reporter in 1971.
