Authorities and media sources claim that Bob Lee, a software executive and founder of the well-known mobile payment app Cash App, was stabbed to death in San Francisco’s Rincon Hill district, close to the Bay Bridge.

The incident happened Tuesday morning around 2:35, and the victim, a 43-year-old man, was discovered by police to have stab wounds. The victim was given help at the site but died from his wounds after being taken to a hospital. No arrests have been made yet, and the case is still being investigated.

The victim was undoubtedly Bob Lee, who was also the chief product officer of the cryptocurrency startup MobileCoin, multiple media outlets have reported, despite the San Francisco Police Department’s refusal to release any other details on the incident.

MobileCoin issued a statement in which they expressed their sorrow at Lee’s passing, but they made no further mention of the incident.

After acting as the chief technical officer of Square (now called Block) and developing Cash App, Bob Lee began working for MobileCoin in 2021.
