Bisola revealed that her choice to delay giving her daughter a phone until she turns 16 has been met with significant backlash. Critics have labelled her as overprotective and questioned her decision, arguing that it might leave her daughter unprepared for emergencies or lagging behind her peers in terms of social connectivity.

However, Bisola firmly believes in her approach. She explained that her daughter is not entirely disconnected from the digital world. Instead of a phone, her daughter has been provided with a laptop for schoolwork and can communicate with her friends via Zoom. This allows her daughter to stay connected and manage her academic responsibilities without the potential distractions and risks associated with owning a phone.
One of the moments that influenced Bisola’s decision was an incident involving her daughter’s online activities. Bisola recounted discovering that her daughter had secretly opened a smart chat account on her laptop. This breach of trust led Bisola to extend the phone ban by another year as a disciplinary measure.
