Bisa Kdei urges positive promotion for global success of Ghanaian music

Ghanaian Highlife star Bisa Kdei has spoken out against certain promoters, accusing them of hindering the progress of Ghanaian music, particularly on the global stage, due to their negative attitudes towards the industry.

Bisa Kdei expressed frustration at the dismissal of Ghanaian music by some promoters, emphasizing the hard work musicians put into their craft.

He highlighted missed opportunities during the Year of Return initiative, where international visitors didn’t get enough exposure to Ghanaian music.

The singer noted that disparaging remarks from promoters have discouraged investors from supporting the music industry.

He urged for a focus on the positives to inspire others, pointing out that even foreign artists come to Ghana to learn.

Currently, Bisa Kdei is promoting his single “Medaase,” which is gaining popularity across the nation.

Notably, his 2018 song “Asew” was remixed and featured in Netflix’s 2020 Christmas movie, “Jingle Jangle.” This recognition highlights the potential of Ghanaian music on the global stage, despite the challenges faced within the industry.
