Veteran Nollywood actress Binta Ayo Mogaji has opened up about the reasons behind her decision to end her 13-year marriage to retired footballer Victor Ayodele Oduleye.

In a recent interview on the ‘Talk To Be’ podcast with Biola Bayo, Mogaji revealed that the marriage was marred by abuse.
She described a troubled history of physical and mental abuse during their time together, stating that the relationship became increasingly difficult and painful.
Mogaji shared that despite falling in love, the marriage was characterized by frequent beatings and harsh language.

She recounted instances where she would leave their home to avoid confrontation, seeking solace outside until someone else arrived. The situation became so dire that she found it necessary to leave the marriage for her own well-being.
The actress also addressed her previous revelation about having a 20-year-old son with actor Jibola Dabo, whom she described as her boyfriend before marrying Oduleye in 2006.
“We were together for thirteen years, and we have been separated for four years now,” Mogaji said. “When it gets too much, I would advise anyone in such a situation to get out of the marriage. It’s essential to prioritize your safety and mental health.”
