In a viral video, Berla revealed that her exit from GHOne, a subsidiary of EIB Network, was not an easy choice.

Despite facing challenges and feeling restricted in her growth at GHOne, Berla was initially hesitant to leave due to a sense of loyalty and gratitude towards the company that kickstarted her career.

“The latter parts of my days at GHOne had become very tough. I felt like I had grown to a certain limit, and the platform could not afford what I wanted anymore. But I was afraid to make that bold step to leave. That was because my whole journey as a broadcast journalist had started with GHOne.”

“From the inception up to that point in my life, I felt like I owed the company something—a favour or my career. I was looking for a way to move because things had become very difficult. I just wasn’t finding myself in that space anymore,” she explained.

Despite initial attempts to leave, Berla found herself stuck in fear and uncertainty. She recounted how she had accepted an offer from TV3 but later declined it due to apprehension. However, as she continued to feel out of place and witness negative dynamics at GHOne, Berla eventually made the difficult decision to depart.

“While I was in GHOne, things took a turn. The backbiting started; there were a lot of accusations here and there, and there were people who were treating me like I didn’t matter, and I just didn’t understand what it meant. It was just God making things uncomfortable for me,” she shared.

Berla’s journey led her to TV3, where she found a new opportunity for growth and fulfillment. Reflecting on her experience, she emphasized the importance of prioritizing one’s well-being and career progression.
