Bayern Munich is expected to sign Michael Olise, the Crystal Palace winger who has chosen to join the German club. Bayern, along with Chelsea and Newcastle, had shown interest in the 22-year-old earlier in the month.

The transfer is complex due to a £60 million release clause and various parties entitled to a share of the fee, including Palace, Olise, and his former club Reading.

Chelsea had reservations about the total cost after a failed attempt to sign him last summer for £35 million. Earlier, Chelsea had activated a £35 million release clause in Olise’s contract, but he ultimately decided to stay at Crystal Palace by signing a new four-year deal23.
Olise, who has extended his contract with Palace until 2027, will also be part of France’s team for the Paris Olympics.
Last season, he scored 10 goals in 19 games for Palace but missed some matches due to injury. Manchester United had been interested in Olise but is now looking at other positions.
