According to him, Dr Bawumia intends to address the pressing need for improved education and support for people with special needs across the country. “Under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership, we are committed to training more speech and language therapists, as well as occupational and behavioural therapists,” he said.
Miracles Aboagye highlighted the challenges faced by people with special needs, noting that they often rely on support from others to navigate daily life. He underscored the significance of creating an enabling environment where individuals with special needs can access appropriate care and educational opportunities.
“Visit our hospitals; observe how individuals with special needs interact with medical professionals. Ideally, every healthcare facility and public space should have specialized therapists to support them,” Aboagye said.
