Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has revealed that an amount of GH¢177 million is set to be disbursed to the Ministry of Health for the payment of allowances owed to nursing trainees nationwide.

The reinstated nursing trainee allowance, which had accumulated arrears over several months, is now receiving attention from the Akufo-Addo administration.
Addressing nurses and midwives at a meeting in Accra, Dr. Bawumia confirmed that the funds would be transferred on Thursday for immediate disbursement.

He assured the attendees that the Controller is scheduled to transfer the allocated GH¢177 million directly to the Ministry of Health. Once received, the Ministry will promptly transfer the funds to the accounts of nursing trainees, ensuring they receive their allowances without delay.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting nursing trainees and expressed confidence that the disbursement would alleviate their financial burdens.
