Barcelona is reportedly eyeing Darwin Nunez to join their squad during the summer changes, with the possibility of him stepping in for Robert Lewandowski.

It’s been suggested that Lewandowski might be let go as part of a significant team shake-up when the season ends.

Due to La Liga’s strict salary cap regulations, Barcelona needs to cut down their payroll considerably to proceed with their intended ventures. Lewandowski, who is the top earner with an annual salary of £27 million, is likely to be one of the players leaving.

On the other hand, Nunez, who is currently with Liverpool, is seen as a viable alternative for Barcelona since he would ask for a much lower salary than Lewandowski.
Even as one of the top earners at Liverpool, Nunez’s pay is just a small portion of what the Polish striker makes, which could make him a cost-effective choice for Barcelona.
As Barcelona anticipates the exit of several players at the season’s end, the club’s management is confident they can afford Liverpool’s price for Nunez, assuming the Reds are open to discussions.
