James Olanrewaju, best known as Baba Ijesha, will be arraigned for court and might be tried for five sexual offenses.

According to a statement signed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo, the police forwarded the actor’s case file to the Directors of Public Prosecution, for legal advice.

It said after consideration, the DDP issued a legal on Tuesday that a prima face case is disclosed against Baba Ijesha and recommended he be charged under the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
The actor will therefore be charged with five different offenses which are punishable by 7 years, 14 years, 3 years, and two offenses by life imprisonment.

The Attorney General went on to state that, while the state will ensure that Baba IJesha’s ‘ right is enshrined in the Constitution is upheld, the Ministry of Justice “will not relent in its effort at ensuring that, whowever sexually abuses any resident of Lagos is apeedily brought to book.”
The Attorney General went on to assure Lagosians and Nigerians as a whole that, in accordance with the DDP’s advice, charges against the actor will be “filed accordingly.”
