Following productive discussions with ECG regarding the power situation, Atta Akyea revealed that the committee has urged ECG management to provide a timetable to the public, allowing them to plan effectively amidst the outages.

Speaking to the press after a meeting with stakeholders in the power industry on Sunday, April 7, 2024, the Abuakwa South MP emphasized the committee’s commitment to ensuring the timely release of the schedule.

“We’ll do everything in our power to make sure that we generate enough power,” Atta Akyea assured, highlighting the importance of transparency in informing customers about power availability.

The move comes after the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) reported ECG to the Energy Minister for failing to issue a load shedding timetable, citing potential risks to the stability of the national grid.

GRIDCo warned of possible disruptions in power supply if ECG continued to delay providing a schedule, emphasizing the necessity of timely communication to customers regarding power outages.

With the assurance from Atta Akyea and the committee’s oversight, Ghanaians can expect to receive the load shedding schedule soon, allowing them to better manage their daily activities amidst the ongoing power challenges.
