Although this is a significant amount for Atlético Madrid, the club is willing to make an exception for Simeone’s priority target.
Julian Alvarez, who played 90 minutes in Argentina’s 1-0 loss to France in the Paris Olympics quarterfinals, addressed his future after the match.
He said: “I was focused on this tournament. We’ll see what happens with my future. Now I’m taking a few days off and then I’ll decide.”
Manchester City has stated that any player can leave if the club’s valuation is met. Álvarez’s representatives are waiting until after the Olympics to discuss his future with City.
