Despite their interest, Aston Villa has failed to advance in talks for the Portugal international, who continues to face an uncertain future at Atletico.

Joao Felix, who fell out with manager Diego Simeone nearly two years ago, has been on two successive loans and is unlikely to play for Atletico again.

Joao Felix was the most expensive player ever acquired by a Spanish club when he joined from Benfica in 2019.

Aston Villa considers Joao Felix one of their dream targets for the transfer window but the negotiations are yet to progress.
