Currently, Ian Maatsen is with the Netherlands national team at Euro 2024 in Germany, having been called up as a replacement for the injured Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.
This transfer marks the second signing for Villa manager Unai Emery in the pre-season transfer window, following forward Lewis Dobbin’s arrival from Everton.
Aston Villa are gearing up for Champions League football after finishing fourth in the Premier League last season and the signing of Ian Maatsen is a big signing for the upcoming season.
