Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan joined Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on the campaign trail as the latter seeks the presidency.

The event took place in Akropong in the Eastern Region, where they were joined by numerous supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The campaign featured a health walk attended by thousands, showcasing the party’s strong grassroots support.
During his speech, Gyan emphasized his commitment to the youth and expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s plans for them.
Gyan shared that he had a personal discussion with the Vice President about his focus on youth development. He expressed his belief that Dr. Bawumia will fulfill his promises, particularly in areas impacting young people.

Gyan also mentioned his role in chairing Dr. Bawumia’s manifesto committee on youth and sports, which further assures him of the Vice President’s dedication.
Earlier this year, Gyan transitioned into politics by joining the NPP’s campaign team for the 2024 elections.
His appointment as chair of the party’s Youth and Sports sub-committee underlines his commitment to the cause and his belief in Dr. Bawumia’s vision. Gyan urged the crowd to support Dr. Bawumia, placing their trust in him for the upcoming election on December 7.
