Asamoah Gyan, the retired Ghanaian professional footballer, has revealed that Fabio Cannavaro is the toughest opponent he has faced during his long football career.

Asamoah Gyan went ahead to name the Italian national football team as the toughest team he has faced in his entire football career when the Black Stars of Ghana faced the Italian national team in the 2006 FIFA World Cup hosted by Germany.

Asamoah Gyan and the Black Stars of Ghana team were in their maiden FIFA World Cup appearance and they were beaten by Fabio Cannavaro and the Italian national by by two goals to nil with goals from the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Vincenzo Iaquinta.
Fabio Cannavaro is currently aged 50 years and he is currently plying his trade as a football coach in Italy. Fabio Cannavaro’s last coach role was with Benevento of the Italia Serie B.
Fabio Cannavaro played for teams like Napoli, Parma, Inter Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid, and Shabab Al Ahli.
