Armand Duplantis, the pole vaulter known as “Mondo,” delivered a stunning performance at the Paris Olympics.

With a crowd of 80,000 cheering at the Stade de France, Duplantis soared to a new world record of 6.25 meters (20 feet, 6 inches), claiming his second Olympic gold medal.
The Louisiana-born athlete, who competes for Sweden, achieved this record-breaking jump on the sport’s biggest stage.
After clearing the bar, he celebrated by embracing his girlfriend and sharing the moment with friends, family, and Sweden’s royal family.

With this win, Duplantis joins the elite ranks of athletes like shot put champion Ryan Crouser, known for their dominance in field events.
Reflecting on his achievement, Duplantis said, “It’s hard to understand, honestly. If I don’t beat this moment in my career, then I’m pretty OK with that. I don’t think you can get much better than what just happened.”
